I do not like this movie. I think once Nica's mom dies, it comes to a screeching HALT. It's boring. Never mind how Chucky looks, that's the least of its issues. A lot of its issues stem from shit like that thirty second shot of the poisoned chili, Chucky's VOICE(sounded like Dourif phoned it in. "You, and ya mom!"), and countless other things.
This wasn't a cynically made movie. The people behind it had good intentions. I'm just certain that under a different director, this movie could've had some real zest and energy to it. The previous 5 movies all had energy to them.
This movie felt like NyQuil, and is my least favorite of the franchise. Because at least CP3 wasn't as boring as this, and at least Seed has a great score, a great opening 7 minutes, and some great kills.

Well they were trying to get the series back going with a jump start with the horror-only category. I agree it had it's faults, but it did pretty decent considering it followed Seed, lol,
Brad's voice definitely sounded off, but I just attribute that to his age. The movie also wanted to appeal to both the old school fans and the new school, which is quite the stretch.

Yeah yeah I get the intentions behind it. I like slow-burn movies. I like horror movies. I like the original Child's Play.
I was all for a return to form, and this was a valiant *effort*. But I still thought it was garbage. No zest or energy. You can throw the filmmakers' intentions at me all day, doesn't sway how I feel about the final product.

They only had $4 million dollars, they did the best they can,and this is one of the better sequels In the series.

Yeah, I mean it wasn't perfect by any means, but it has it's merits. I can definitely see where you may pick up the lack of zest and whatnot. I felt like Curse was kind of a "reset" of sorts.

Personally, I like the movie, but I could see your viewpoint, but for a tonal reboot with a low budget, I thought it was pretty good.

$2 budget, $20 million budget, reboot, sequel, prequel, scary, funny, it just wasn't entertaining at all to me. From any angle.
Chucky swallowing the keys. The weird slow motion bit of Ian pushing Nica around the house. Ugh I could go on all day lol.

Those parts specifically stunk to me. The slo-mo felt so out of place, lol.

I loved it. It had it's faults, but show me a movie that is perfect.
Fiona was great, the story was entertaining, the throwbacks to older entries was well executed.
I thought it was well written, which it had to be since the budget didn't allow for the film to hide behind the puppet and actually required some good writing. The directing, considering this was Don's second attempt at directing was much better than Seed in my opinion. He had to capture shots, angles and lighting that kept the film flowing while there were breaks in dialogue. I thought he did very well.
Also, on the budget. I heard a figure in the region of $8m. Which even at that, is $1m less than they made the original for twenty five years previous.
Not everybody likes this film, which is normal. You mention Seed having a great opening seven minutes... That movie stunk for me, right from the opening second to the final second of the credits.
Each to their own I guess.

Glen's nightmare sequence is fantastic and creepy. What about it didn't you like? Glen creeping out of the toy chest and grabbing the knife is so good!

I just didn't like it. I didn't like the whole film. Glen is basically, for me, the moment the series flatlined.
Like I say, some people like stuff, others don't.

Something tells me that this user named "blah" is a Seed fanboy and might be trolling you guys. I hope that this is not the case. I like Seed and I can understand that most of you don't like it. I just hope he doesn't make the same mistakes and get banned like I did. I do agree with what he says about Bride.

Well, everyone has the right to their opinions. Some liked Curse, some didn't. I can understand why Blah didn't like Curse, though I personally like it.
