Yeah I've seen and been in a few more serious musicals for example, Les Miserables or Sweeney Todd. I do agree that people kind of assume they're all cheesy and happy-go-lucky...but I just can't see a Chucky musical having any real serious, deep moments or any real powerful songs. I mean the closest thing I would be able to compare what a Chucky musical would be like is "The Black Donnelly's" which isn't even a musical..just a play. I think it would do pretty terribly and a lot of people would be disappointed.

We're half way there... the Spencers Doll looks like Meatloaf. Lol.
I wish Dio were alive. I think he'd be excellent to be the voice behind Chucky. I am thinking of a musical that's symphonic in nature with a hard rock twist. Kinda like how the main Theme for "Phantom of the Opera" has heavy guitar in the background on some releases of the song.
I actually wrote lyrics based on Charles Lee Ray's death from his perspective. I just got to put music to it.

No but I've performed "Memory" many, many times.

Doctor, it's funny you say Dio could voice Chucky because I was just listening to "Bible Black" by his band Heaven and Hell, lol. But yeah, I think if the Chucky musical is done in the style of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd musical, then it could work.

Well if it has Johnny Depp in it, it doesn't matter if it sucks or not, because every high school girl is gonna see it 4 times and think it's the best thing ever while taking selfies for their twatters and instaHam or whatever that is.

Even Sweeney Todd wouldn't give the right feel...there are just some thing's that are not meant to be made musically....and I can't help but feel like Chucky is one of them as much as I love him. I'm kind of a musical theater nut and a nazi when it comes to this kind of stuff, it's been a large part of my life for the last 10+ years lol

We should just make this ourselves. We have a few singers here, I myself can play a multitude of instruments... I know smngry can play too... we have people that can make background graphics... let do this.
If not... I'll do it all myself. I'll Eddie Murphy the hell out of it by playing all parts. Lol.

I mean, honestly, Chucky would probably end up more in the background, ala the original movie. It is difficult to have puppets on stage without them looking like, well, a puppet.

So you're thinking of Chucky on stage, then? I was thinking you were planning more or less along the lines of a movie. I don't know, even as a stage show I don't see it being a best seller on Broadway, just more or less laughed at by horror fans.

Musicals are always better on stage. Unless they're animated. But, that's why I suggested OFF Broadway. I doubt it would make the money necessary to be a full scale Broadway show. A Chucky movie musical probably would be cheesy. I can't really see that working. But I can see a stage show. Even a novelty horror/halloween show. That'd probably make it the most successful. If it goes really well, it can be a yearly show, ala Elf The Musical. I think it can be done. It just needs the right people attached to it.
