Aside from bodies to inhabit did they really need them to give them a ride?
Remember the scene where Chucky told Tiffany "Sure... I'll steer, and you can hold the peddles.. we're dolls you dope."
Then of course... this was contradicted in Seed when Chucky and Glen did exactly this. It kinda makes the events of Bride seem like a waste of time.

Yeah, Bride might have had a lot of comedy but it wasn't as extreme as the comedy in Seed, and Seed just seemed to enjoy picking on itself a lot. Plus the car trip in Bride was more than just a short little getaway like the scene in Seed. I think they did need Jesse and Jade, for a ride and their bodies.

Yeah, I don't think they would have been able to make that trip on one tank, so they needed them for that at least.

It ain't Bride's fault a movie that came out after it makes it look like a "waste of time".
Don't forget, Bride and Seed are as different from each other as Bride and the original trilogy is. I really don't like it when people group Bride and Seed together because they really are different beasts. Different kinds of comedy, and different amounts of comedy.

I didn't say Bride was waste of time... I was just pointing out that they went through all this hell and it seems like that could have been avoided.
It's kind of like Dragon Ball Z. At one time Freiza was a no joke villian. It took everything to destroy him. Then when he made his return in Dragon Ball GT he was defeated without breaking a sweat.
It's just ironic how what was a major obstacle in Bride ended up becoming a "no problem" event in Seed.
Also whether people like it or not Bride will get paired with Seed by default. I know they'er two different films but it was the stepping stone that led to Seed. If Seed were the film taking place after CP3, fans would have felt a lot of that "WTF?" feeling walking out of a theater. Bride helped cushion that blow because it was the inception of the comedy aspect of the franchise.

Don had an odd obsession with Jennifer Tilly at the time Seed was made. The commentary is annoying.

Your point doesn't ruin the film for me but I just didn't think about that as much and yea the went all "Buddy" for the commentary. One day I must listen to the one with Don and Tony.

TBH, I never really thought it was buddy buddy, though it sounded like it was fun to record. That's probably why there's two commentary tracks, one of people who want to hear the technical aspects of the movie, and another to just watch the movie and have fun and talk about some other aspects of it.
