Ever since the CP remake was cancelled, I have been wondering what it would have been like. Here is my take on the perfect CP remake:
It was a dark, cold, winter night on Wabash Avenue. Detective Mike Norris had spotted and was in pursuit of Charles Lee Ray, "The Lakeshore Strangler," the most wanted man in Chicago. Ray ran down a dark alleyway with Norris in hot pursuit when the first shot was fired. This shot did not come from Mike or Charles, but from Ray's accomplice, Eddie Caputo. The bullet tore through Ray's leg, rendering him unable to walk. "Sorry Charlie!" Exclaimed Eddie. "This has been your final job. I'm on to bigger and better things. So long, partner!" Norris fired a shot at Eddie, but missed. Eddie was able to get in his van and escape. "Eddie, you son of a bitch!" Screamed Charles, as he hopelessly crawled across the concrete like a dying rat. Norris was getting closer, and Ray had to think fast. There was a door in the alleyway, a back door to an unknown establishment. Ray quickly shot the lock and crawled inside. It was a toy store, loaded to the top with toys ready for Christmas shopping. He was able to hide behind some boxes and wait for Detective Norris. When Norris entered, he spotted a trail of blood leading to Ray's location. A quick burst of lead left Ray bleeding to death. "Goodnight, asshole." Said Norris as he left the building, leaving rat behind. "Fuck you Mikey! I'll get you and Eddie! I know a way!" Responded Ray. Ray then pulled out a strange circular amulet with a sapphire in the center. He put his hand on a "Good Guy" doll laying beside him as he chanted "Ade Due Damballa, give me the power I beg of you!" Lightning struck the store instantly, leaving it in flames. Norris returned quickly to check on the commotion. Everything was destroyed, including Ray's charred body. That is except for the Good Guy Doll...

Very interesting man, like the spin with Eddie. My only question is, why would Mike just leave Charles Lee Ray as opposed to just take him in?

Part 2: Andy Barclay has woken up at the crack of dawn, ecstatic for his sixth birthday party. He ran into his mother Karen's room in their small apartment, eager to wake her up. "Mommy, mommy! Wake up!" Yelled Andy with immense excitement, completely decked out in his "Good Guys" pajamas. "Andy, do you have any idea what time it is?" Asked his mom. "It's my birthday!" Responded Andy. His mother smiled and got out of bed as Andy ran for his presents. "Open these now, I'm saving your best present for later!" Exclaimed Karen. Andy had wanted his very own "Good Guy" doll ever since they first landed on store shelves. They were, however, a hefty $100, and Karen could not afford that at the moment. Karen had a simple solution. Good Guys were 50% off on the weekend of December 5 at Wabash Toys, Saturday being Andy's birthday. Her plan was to simply go to work and buy one for him on the way home. Karen proceeded to car pool to work with her lifelong friend Maggie. After work, the two went down to Wabash avenue, only to see the burnt out shell of Wabash Toys, police cars, and crime scene tape. She began to panic, that is until she saw a peddler rolling a shopping cart from the alley behind the store. In the cart was none other than a "Good Guy" doll. The peddler willingly gave it to her for $20, rendering it a piece of junk. Karen and Maggie then proceeded to get back in the car to suprise Andy with his new toy. Out of nowhere, about half way home, Karen's phone rang. It was her boss. He informed her that she was needed at work as an emergency substitute. She had no choice. Sub or lose her job. Luckily, Maggie volunteered to watch Andy an bring him his Good Guy. Karen was visibly thankful.

Part 3:
Maggie unlocked the apartment door and crept inside. "Suprise!" She yelled to Andy, scaring him half to death. "Aunt Maggie!" Yelled Andy. "You scared me half to death!" "Well, I hope you'll forgive me after I give you this." She replied. "It's from your mom. Something came up and she will be home late. Sorry squirt." Maggie gently handed Andy the large square package. He ran to the sofa and ripped off the paper bag wrapping paper. "A Good Guy!" Exclaimed Andy. "I knew my mommy would get me one!" He yanked the doll out of his box and set it on his lap. "Can you show me how he works?" Asked Maggie. "Hi, I'm Andy, what's your name?" Andy asked the doll. "Hi, I'm Chucky, and I'm your friend till the end! Hidey-ho!" Replied the doll. "That's pretty cool!" Said Maggie. "Now let's get you some dinner. Andy and Maggie had a nice TV-Dinner. Afterwards, Maggie turned on the news. "Serial killer Charles Lee Ray was shot and killed late last night in Wabash Toy store. He was killed by Detective Mike Norris of the CPD. Norris is currently suspended without pay for leaving the crime scene." Said the anchor. When Charles Lee Ray was mentioned, Chucky swiftly turned his head to the TV. "Andy, time for bed!" Said Maggie. Maggie picked up Andy and Chucky and brought them to bed. She then turned on the water in the bathtub, got undressed, and proceeded to take a hot bath. She wanted to continue to watch the news, so she took the small kitchen TV and put it on the rim of the tub. A few minutes later, Maggie heard some shuffling. She swiftly looked over the tub and saw Chucky laying on the floor, startling her. "Andy! She screamed! I don't know how you did that but it was a good one. You must scare your mom half to death." A grisly male voice then whispered, "I take care of the other half." The TV was then pushed into the tub, violently electrocuting Maggie and boiling the water within seconds.

Part 4:
It was around 11:00 PM when Karen returned to her apartment. "Maggie?" She called. "I'm home." There was no reply. She called Maggie's name a few more times, but to no avail. She then walked into Andy's room. She smiled at the sight of him snuggling with his new friend. She gently woke him up and asked "Where's aunt Maggie." "I'm not sure." He responded. When Chucky and I went to sleep she was in the living room. "Is that your Good Guy's name?" She asked. "I like that name." Karen then proceeded to find her friend. First she checked her bedroom, assuming Maggie fell asleep. There was no sign of her. Karen then walked into the bathroom. As she walked through the door, she noticed water splashed almost everywhere. She looked to the right and screamed in terror. In the bathtub was the TV and Maggie's charred corpse.
The next morning, the house was a total wreck. The police had searched the whole place for evidence, but ruled Maggie's death a freak accident. A distraught Karen brought her confused and traumatized son to school with Chucky in his arms. Andy walked in the door and Karen left. After his mother left, Andy went right back out the door with Chucky, whom appeared to be whispering in his ear. Andy made his way to the metro station and hopped on the train. Chucky once again whispered to him, and Andy got off the train at the next stop. The small child and his doll were in a rough part of town, with Chucky guiding him with whispers. Chucky stopped Andy at a dark alleyway. Andy sat outside and waited as Chucky knocked on a back door in the alley. Andy hid behind a dumpster as two men in hazmat suits answered the door. They saw Chucky lying on the stoop. "Eddie!" One of them shouted. "What the fuck is this?" Eddie Caputo approached the doorway, also in a hazmat suit. "That must be our shipment." He exclaimed. "Clever bastards hid the stuff inside a doll! Take it inside and cut it open." One of the men took Chucky inside and the other two closed the door. Moments later, Andy could hear muffled screams and sadistic laughing from behind the door. Then came the explosion. The brick was crumbled and shrapnel was rocketed throughout the alleyway. Andy was shielded from the blast by the dumpster.

Part 5:
A distraught Karen was working in her department of Macy's when the police showed up. "Karen Barclay!" They called. "You need to come down to the station with us. It's your son." Without question, Karen left work and rode to the police station.
When she walked in the door, she was guided to an interrogation room where Andy and Chucky were sitting. "Andy!" She called with relief. "Mommy!" He responded. Detective Mike Norris stepped between them. "And I'm detective Norris." He exclaimed. "We found your son in one of the worst parts of town. To make matters worse, he was next to a meth lab when it exploded, the lab of Eddie Caputo, serial killer on the run. He's no longer on the run now, however. There were no survivors inside the lab." Karen could barely comprehend what she just heard, yet noticed something strange. It had been all over the news that Norris had been suspended from the force. "Weren't you suspended?" She asked. "Yes," he replied. "But they called me back in for the Caputo incident. He used to be one of our own, my partner. That is, until Charles Lee Ray brainwashed him and took him in. He was my best friend, so they thought I could help find him, but your son here did first." Karen sat down to talk to her son. "Andy, listen to me." She demanded. "Why on earth would you leave school and do something as dangerous as this? I already lost your daddy and if I lost you, I'd have nothing." "Chucky told me to." Andy responded. "Chucky is a doll!" She yelled. "He can't talk!" A man walked in the room and put his hand on Karen's shoulder. "Hi, Mrs. Barclay." He said. "I'm Dr. Ardmore. We questioned Andy before you arrived, and he was saying some pretty unsettling things. Andy is going to have to stay with us for a few days." "No, he can't!" She responded. "He won't!" "I'm afraid you have no choice." He interjected.

Part 6:
Karen was a total wreck. When she entered her empty apartment, she dropped her keys on the floor, making no effort to pick them up. She then threw Chucky on the couch. Karen then walked into the kitchen and broke down into tears. She sat there for about a half hour, starring blankly into space, before noticing something strange. Chucky's box was sitting in the trash can, and it said "Batteries Included" on the bottom left corner. She instantly stopped crying and gained her composure. She figured the peddler had put the batteries in. She got up, opened the box, and sitting at the bottom were two "D" batteries. He quickly looked over to the couch, where Chucky was now eerily sitting up. She slowly approached him and opened his battery compartment. It was empty. Karen dropped the doll, and when it hit the ground, the voice of Charles Lee Ray exclaimed "Wanna play Karen?" She promptly ran from the apartment, down the stairs, and out the front door, where she ran into Detective Norris. "Whoa, careful Mrs. Barclay." He said. "I was just coming to tell you that we need the doll back. The forensic scientist says he needs to check it for prints." "TAKE IT!" Karen screamed. "HE'S ALIVE! ANDY WAS RIGHT!" "Take it easy Mrs. Barclay." Norris said. "You are going through a lot that's hard to cope with. I'll go back up with you to get the doll." Karen and Mike went back up the stairs and into the apartment. Chucky was nowhere to be found.
