Who likes the voodoo aspect of the series? Personally, I love the idea of voodoo. I find it very fascinating. As some may know, Don didn't actually want voodoo to be in the series, but Tom Holland, director of the first film, inserted the voodoo aspect into it. So, do you think the voodoo aspect works for the series? Would the series have worked WITHOUT the voodoo aspect?

I actually don't mind it,however it's nice to see its use.

Considering the voodoo aspect had been such a big part of the series and is the whole reason Charles Lee Ray was able to convert himself into a Good Guy doll, it's hard to imagine the series without Voodoo!

I like it, it makes me able to suspend disbelief to some extent.

I think the Voodoo aspect added to what made it into a successful franchise. The voodoo allows him to be resurrected. Don's original idea, sans voodoo, probably wouldn't have been as successful. And plus with it, we have that bitchin voodoo chant that I'm sure we've all recited on some occasion...

Yeah, I've definitely used the chant to try and transfer my soul into other objects... and the less said, the better.

I use it when my drink is too far out of my reach. Never works.

I like to think like the inconsistency of the chant contributes to the fact it never really works, lol.

I always get tripped up over this concept and here is why. Just looking at Chucky and listening to him talk... how the hell does a guy like this get involved with voodoo.
It's like finding out the Pope listens to Dubstep. Lol.
Seriously, even as early as CP1 contradicts itself because his apartment was all kinds of voodoo... yet he tells John "I thought you were pulling my chain" when referencing to using voodoo to beat death.
Then again... Mayne he does take it seriously but the rest of his being as a person doesn't follow suit. Part of me thinks that one would have to have a voodoo lifestyle or something.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but Chucky has always come across to me as the type to do whatever he needs to in order to survive and progress, no matter what the expense is to others. So I wouldn't be surprised if he feigned all his interest in the voodoo, just to gain John's knowledge.

That's possible, but I look at the voodoo thibg like a guy who studies martial arts. It's like a lifestyle and Chucky apparently doesn't live a voodoo lifestyle. I don't mean to sound stereotypical but shouldn't Chucky have been wearing more voodoo esque clothing like a daishiki made of burlap instead of cheesy cocaine dealer clothes?
IDK... then again Grace Pool did say a series of ritual voodoo killings so I guess he practiced what he needed to.
