I didn't make this poll, but rather a discussion over the idea of which one of these looks is more relavent to Chucky's character.
For us older fans... we know Chucky as being the clean doll with freckles, redhair, and blue eyes. New fans recognize Chucky for being this messed up looking doll, and it also has more of a pop cultural impact as we have seen more merchandise in relation to his stitched appearance.
Also we have to look at time being a factor. Technically what to we go by. Chucky's own timeline, screentime, actual time?
In Chucky's own time he spent most of his existence... as a human, lol... but as a doll in his unstitched appearance. Same goes for screentime, although we are one movie aways from that changing. However, the last time before Curse that we saw him unstiched was in 1991, which was a long time ago and 1998 was the debut of his stitched look. So technically from our point of view he has been stitched longer.
Please share your thoughts... also I know this is a subject that creates arguments so keep it to a friendly debate.

Personally, I prefer his stitched appearance. It was the first version of Chucky I ever saw, and it left a huge impression on me. When it was younger, I thought it was the scariest thing ever. But I can also say the same about the Unstitched appearance. For sentimental reasons, I choose the stitched appearance, but I do like both versions.

That is typically the case with most viewers, they are gonna prefer the first version they saw because it's gonna establish the character. Which is perfectly fine by me, but it just doesn't scare me, lol.

As much as I like the clean look, I'd probably like the stitched look just as much if it weren't for the fact that I automatically associate the stitches with the less scary, more comedic personality version of Chucky we had in Bride and Seed. (Or maybe it might have been just Seed alone that ruined the stitched look for me, at least.)

I agree, Spanky. I can totally see why some people don't find the stitched version scary. I find the stitched version to be very cool. It's different strokes for different folks, as the saying goes. The Unstitched version can remain incognito and not be recognized, and thus the murders are somewhat more easy to pull off, so I can understand also why people like the Unstitched version as well.

Yeah, I mean that's what does it for me concerning a horror movie involving a killer doll. Stitched Chucky does look a little more hardcore, a little more bad ass, and I mean if he's not trying to hide in plain sight, then I guess so. I also feels like it goes with more his comedic side, but that's not my main criteria in a horror movie.

For story purposes I am in more favor of his unstitched look. I am sure that if he were stitched in CP2 Grace Poole wouldn't have been so quick to say "Give me that" when Kyle was holding him. Actually him being stitched would have saved her life, but because he wasn't it gave him an opportunity to go OJ Simpson on her.

Not to mention Phil and Joanne would have definitely recognized he wasn't Tommy...

If it were CP1 Maggie would have been correct when saying "That thing is not worth $30" lol.
However for Bride... it was a stroke of genius. I thought of a number of different scenerios for a ressurection from CP3. Hell I even thought that maybe his upper body could have made it out of the fan and he comes across a batch of Good Guys being given out as prizes at the carnival that he could get a new body from.
I never once thought of an outside investor helping him. Only reason he was stitched in Seed was because the "Chucky Goes Psycho" props were designed off of the testamonies of everything that happened in Bride. Otherwise I would like to thinki that general Urban Legend research would have lead to that production team making an unstitched Chucky prop seeing as how so many news stories were centered around a killer Good Guy doll.

I love both looks. Stitched for me makes Chucky look like a bad ass, but the innocent Good Guy look slowly morphing into a more human like evil element does it for me.

This is always a good debate. Basically the way I personally view it is, that stitched is pretty well the way chucky is on the inside, but in a visual way. Like everybody will look at stitched Chucky and know damn well there's something wrong with him. Whereas unstitched holds a little bit more creepiness for the sake that he is this cute, child-like looking slasher. It's hard to choose
