What did you think when hearing about Curse?
For me it was odd because I heard about like two days after my father died. So it was a bitter sweet moment because even though I was mouring my father, I was happy to hear this news... even though it was old news for some by then.
Anyway, when I first learned about it being a straight to DVD release I wasn't surprised. Then we all heard it was going to be taking place after CP3... which pissed some off, pleased others... then went the other way around when we finally saw the film. lol. Ofcourse nothing could compare to all the talk, rumors, and arguments over what he would look like based on the information we knew at that time. I will Don Mancini managed to fools us all.
The build up and anticipation was fun while it lasted.

It was a "finally" moment for me, because I've heard rumors about a sequel or remake swirling around for years. I knew after Seed though that I should not expect too much. I was also very happy to see it was being made by some branch of Universal instead of Rogue. It was just comforting in a sense.

I don't know enough about Rouge to make an assesment. I have seen a few movies under their banner that I enjoyed... obviously not enough to remember which one's they were exactly... but I too felt more comfortable with the fact that this was going to be under a Universal sub company.
When I first hear that it was taking place after CP3 I felt a little disheartened about having 2 movie mean nothing in a sense... but then I was all geared up to see what they could do. I figured this was their reboot. Curse ended up being a straight sequel, which is fine but it also lead to all these inconsistancies in continuity and it also left a lot of questions.
Originally I thought the beginning of the film was going to be similar to Bride to the effect that his remains from CP3 are discovered, and ressurected from there.
If you want to get technical they can still do this without it effecting the current timeline. I am sure parts of his body from CP1, CP2, CP3, Bride, and Seed are still out there... waiting for some idiot to bring him back somehow.

Yeah, I heard it was gonna be a direct sequel before the rumor it was gonna ignore Bride and Seed, so I was able to disregard all the post-CP3 talk because I know how butthurt a lot of people would get because the younger generation typically likes Bride and Seed more, and they also make up more of the movie market.

When I first heard about Curse,I was very excited. I went to the old POC site to learn every bit of news for the film right up until it's release and when I finally saw it,it blew my mind! It has revived the franchise and I will be so hyped and ready when Chucky 7 is made.

I remember I had just officially became a Chucky fan. I watched all the movies and bought the Killer DVD Collection. I swear, the day after I buy it, they announce a sequel. Good timing, eh? I was excited for it, as after watching the first 5 movies, I was interested in seeing Chucky in a new situation, and a new adventure, of sorts.

First Blu-ray movie I actually paid for. I want each movie on Blu-ray, but not in that collection set, I want them individually, it would feel more prestigious that way, but I don't think they sell them that way.

The first thing I felt was apprehension.
I almost didn't want to get excited because I had this feeling it was gonna carry on in the same vein as Seed before it.
But then I heard it was to return to the horror roots that had established the series in the first place and I began to relax a little. I did get excited when I first heard it was to ignore Bride and Seed, especially Seed (which you either love or hate, like Marmite), because that happens to be the moment the series went too far with the comedy and the absurd storyline just made me feel uneasy throughout.
Then I discovered you guys, this little community, and the build up, the hype, the secrecy (they did very well not leaking anything in all the time it was in production) made it all worthwhile.
All in all the film ended up being enjoyable, for both old school fans, and the younger generation that first cottoned in with Bride/Seed. I was a little pissed at inconsistencies and plot holes, the questions we were left with didn't bother me so much because I love having questions and discussing them with you lot.
Hopefully some of these questions will be addressed in the next installment and we can have the same anticipation as we did with Curse.
Fingers crossed eh?

I was surprised. I really tought there will be no more Chucky movies, but we finally got what what we wanted. When I saw the news on the internet, I was very happy and excited, but I was afraid this could be just another fake title, like that time they announced'' Revenge of Chucky'' which was never released. But time passed, and I saw that the movie was a real thing, I was so excited and every day i looked to see if there was any news on the internet.

That's how it was for me too. I looked everyday for new news... it was closest I come to being like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Yeah I read all the news about a remake, saw that fake, albeit amazing looking fan-made remake trailer, so I just had the feeling "it'll get their eventually".
