Like almost everything, I like some movies more than others, but I can I don't think seed is completely unwatchable. I can appreciate it for what it is.

Seed isn't unwatchable, nor a "Bad Movie" in terms of what a singular movie should be.
It just feels off when looking at what was built before it.
Child's Play is one of the scariest movies ever made. I have grown adult co workers who would stay far from my desk because of my Mezco Good Guy doll sitting on it. That's the fear Chucky used to inspire.
When you watch Seed, it's kind of hard not to look at it as a flaw when comparing it to CP1. Most fans who started there say he's funny or cute. So wrong.
Bride on the other hand was a perfectly blended balance of comedy and horror. Again, Seed isn't the worst movie ever made, but when being compared to the rest of the franchise it feels like the black sheep of the bunch.

Same here lol, I refuse to be one of those people who when asked to pick a favorite movie in the series, they go "I love all the Chucky movies <3". I had a definite ranking, and Seed is at the bottom of the list. I think people forget when others shit on Seed, it's in comparison to the other movies. They all can't be gold and the best movies ever, some lack while others shine. Especially given the shift in genre during the series, it's impossible to equate some films to others, because it boils down to preference on whether you like horror, horror/comedy, or campy, which lets face it, Seed is more campy than Crystal Lake.

Sometimes it depends on what you like.
Take "Friday the 13th Part 6" this is where they added some schlock... Or at least intentional Schlock from the James Bond style opening sequence, to the unrealistic ressurection, to having a bumbling comic type character playing paint ball get iced by Jason. Yet somehow... It worked. Probably my favorite or at least second favortie film in that franchise. Everything that came before it was somewhat grounded in reality, despite some elaborate death scenes.
However when this film came out, it managed to reinvent the franchise and whilst it did go too far, Jason X anyone?... It was just the right amount that fans would crave.
Seed, on the other hand, went too far too fast. I think what worked against it the most is having way too much going on in one film. Glen being Gender neutral, the Movie within a movie, the 4 wall breaking that wasn't clever or funny... The list goes on.
I will admit that I do kind of like seeing how Chucky acts in a non killing situation like when talking with Tiffany in Bride, but Seed made those scene just seem cartoonish.
Best way to describe it, imagine if Jason X was the film that came out right after F13 part 6... It would seem like it's overly trying to top itself. At least when Jason X came out, it gradually babystepped into absurdity where it was acceptable.
Most fans thought "This looks so stupid, I have to see it" because Jason had slowly crawled into the ultimate cheese factor. Need I remind everyone... It was still a theater released film.
When talking cheese and schlock from Bride to Seed, it went from crawling to Olympic Racing without learning to walk, jog, or run.

I admit that the bride of Chucky and son are my two least favorite film. Personally I prefer the character already without scarring.
