Not only does it have the biggest budget of all 6 but it was the most successful in terms of box office success

Yeah, that's why I wonder why Seed had a smaller budget compared to Bride. If Universal had wanted to capitalize on the success of Bride, then why didn't they give the next movie a bigger budget? Of course, that's not to say that low budget films are bad, some of them can be quite great.

IDK if Universal saw where it was heading but they apparently had to have good reason to not want to allow for a bigger budget. Maybe they felt there wasn't more to be had, or maybe by the time they got around to it too much time had passed. Maybe if Seed had come out 2 or maybe 3 years after Bride it might have had that bigger budget, maybe even Seed itself would have turned out different... could have been better... could have been worse.

I dunno mate...
It's only my opinion but they could've spent $200,000,000 on that film, it was only ever gonna be as good as the script. I just couldn't believe what it had come to at that point. Looking at the first film, then looking at Seed it felt way more than a stones throw from how it all started.
From a dark, scary, suspenseful horror film to a comedy, joke laden film with Jennifer Tilly parodying herself was bizarre and made me uncomfortable
