I was watching Curse with Commentary last night and of course we all heard Don say that he would like to see Chucky on either a train or in an Asylum. He also mentioned Nica so I guess we can expect her to make a return.
So whether if you like this idea or not... where do you want to see Chucky go from here. I like the Asylum idea better because it seems like the environment would be more opportunistic for jump scares and surprise kills. However a train can be interesting if it's one of thise trains that has rooms ppl can sleep in because a trip takes a couple days. A subway train wouldn't work... even though those make for a scary environment.
Personally... I wouldn't mind if they introduced him to some new family but because Chucky is such a 3rd dimensional character... he needs good cause to be attacking certain people.
This would be a bit along the lines of Seed but it would be funny if after Andy blows his head off we see him stuff Chucky back in the box he was sent it and returned it to the sender. Then Tiffany can open the box to see Chucky's blown apart face and be like "poor baby. Luckily I got a spare body" then send him off to a secondary target. This would also render us no stitches.
Hopefully this time they use the Radio Shack puppet.

Would you be happy to just return the doll to it's sender? I'm pretty sure Andy would just go to work destroying that thing, look how ready he was in the first place.
I'd prefer the asylum, but only so long as it's a good story, some plot holes get covered up and it's not just about creative killing. Have Nica in there but throw in a little continuity from the original trilogy and restore some of the Chucky mythos that we're all familiar with. That's the one thing I wasn't impressed with in Curse, how he was no longer turning human because Don thought it was creepier that way. I disagreed with that, you can't just switch things last minute in a series with established rules. The whole point of the previous films was his rush to transfer his soul because he was turning human, it gave him his cause and his intensity.
If he was sent to another family then there'd have to be some kind of connection like with the Pierce family, or the Barclays. Just a random family would piss me off.
As far as the train goes, what reason would we have to be on a train? I can't imagine them transporting Nica, somebody sent to an asylum for the criminally deranged after murdering her entire family, by train when they have secure vehicles just for that very cause

Yeah, I agree, Andy would definitely make sure nothing is left of that thing.
I'd prefer the asylum too, and with sticking to the mythos. I think they'll have a lot of success if they keep it simple. My problem with it being on a train is there's kind of a quick out that would irk me the entire movie, and that would be "why doesn't somebody just throw that thing out of the window?"

Like I said... if the film were going to be tonal to Seed, and could mail him back... even leave a note saying "Sorry, try again"
I am curious what happens after that scene. Even more curious to know if that's in continuity. Also I remeber reading something that this next film takes place between the 6 month time gap from the end of Curse to where Andy shoots him in the face. Is that Chucky's final moment? Also it kinda make the next film seem less appealing in a way because then we know he is stiched... Maybe he'll use latext to cover it up again which would be redundant, and we know he'll make it out okay because he would still have to get his head blown off.
So I am hoping this film takes place after that event with Andy.
Also we forget how many possiblilities are out there for him to come back... and in a new Good Guy body. I meantioned this in another thread, but what if there was a lab sorting out old eveidence from CP2 or CP3 and they had blood and a regular doll as evidence and they contact eachother some how. A bit of a stretch, but we've seen the worst ressurection in Seed so anything they give us now in the form of a "Frankenstein" moment has to be better than that. Certainly better than giving us nothing at all like we got in Curse. So the fun's not over until... it's over.

Yeah, I still maintain the inability to be scared whatsoever whenever I see that stitched doll. And if that scene after Curse takes place after 7, then that's kind of a bummer.

As much as I admired Fiona Dourif, I wouldn't be crazy about seeing Nica return as the movie's main focus. I just feel like her story ended where it should have and Chucky should be completely done fucking with whatever life she had left. If he wasn't, he would have told Tiffany to hold off on sending him somewhere else. I do however think it would be kind of cool if Nica had a cameo where the protagonists of the seventh movie somehow meet her as an attempt to gather information on Chucky. Same could go for a cameo of any old character (preferably from CP1 or 2.)
As for setting of the movie...at this point I'm open to almost anything with the exception of the entire movie taking place on a train. I can see myself getting the case of setting confinement claustrophobia that many had experienced with Curse (with the whole duration of the movie taking place in the one same gloomy and drab house and all.) I do remember it being mentioned/suggested by Tony Gardner though of a half train half asylum movie idea that Don had seemed to like. I'm hoping for something along the lines of this in terms of setting variation within the 7th film.
Part of me also unfortunately has a feeling that stitched Chucky is going to be a permanent thing now. Not only is Don a huge fan of it but it's now always going to be one of the biggest parts of Chucky's icon. I almost feel like it was only luck that gave us a clean Good Guy look for the first hour of Curse. And like what The Doctor mentioned...the seventh film is supposedly going to take place in those 6 months before his reunion with Andy. With that being said it's pretty much inevitable for him to have a different look. Damn.

Yeah, that is unfortunate, just kind of disrespectful to his legacy in the past and how he's managed to come back clean and new twice, without intentional intervention of the person knowing what they are bringing back, and when someone has actually tried to bring him back, he can't come back clean. Pretty weak.
I would like to see multiple environments as well, but unfortunately that doesn't work well with a limited budget. Which, if this is gonna be another STV release, is likely the issue. They shot Curse with just $5 million, so I can't imagine 7's budget being that much bigger.

Yeah, that's unfortunately very true too. If anything I guess we should just pray that Universal (or whoever is going to own movie #7) will be generous enough to take into account all the hype and sales success of Curse and factor it into determining a theatrical release or even just a raise of the budget for the seventh movie. I should be forcing myself not to get my hopes up but still. It would be such a shame for the seventh movie to fall even shorter than Curse after so much effort was put into bringing Chucky back big and strong again.
