This was posted over at PoC but I figured I'd bring it here. This is my idea of a modern day Child's Play remake. I had written this and I do plan on finishing the story... but for now enjoy the first half. I think you'll love it. I also want to give credit to my co-admin and friend Spanky for editing this fine piece of literature. Thanks again Spankatron.
Enjoy
Child's Play (2014) By: The Doctor ------ CHAPTER 1 --------------
We are in an underground subway station where we a see a beautiful woman in her late 20's waiting alone for the next train. A relatively handsome man, with long dark brown hair, which appears to be in his late 20's early 30's approaches her and asks “Do you have a light?”
Slightly weary of him yet slightly attracted by him she replies "No sorry I don't smoke," with a nervous smile.
He says "That's okay, it isn't like smoking is what's going to kill you anyway."
She replies "Wha...." and before even finishing a word he grabs her, puts his gloved hand over her mouth and drags her away.
We are then taken to a strange looking room that is dark, and has hardwood floors. We see the woman restrained by each limp being tied down by a leather strap and each strap being nailed into the floor. Beneath her is a pentagram that is drawing out in sand, and she is surrounded by candles. She looks over and up to her left and sees this man that did this to her. He is lighting candles at what appears to be a mantle with a mirror hanging above. He is wearing leather pants, with no shirt.
A very attractive blonde walks in and says "When will the ritual begin?"
He says "Oh... very soon" then they share a rather lustful kiss.
He then gets down on his knees above where this woman’s head is resting. The blonde woman puts a cloak on him, and then hands him a rather strange looking knife. He then starts saying all these weird words and speaking in tongues. He clasps the knife with both hands and raises it high above his head as his words intensify in volume. We see the woman trying desperately to scream through her duct taped mouth as tears flow from her eyes. We see the knife go down and the scene cuts to black.
We are then taken to this same scene but hours later where a forensic team is there investigating. We pan over to a man who appears to be angry, and in disbelief at the same time.
A man walks over to him and says "Detective Norris, we found this note." The note reads "Hi Mikey, Nice try but you're too late once again." in which this note bears a weird emblem.
This isn’t the first note that this Detective has received from this maniac. Frustrated by the note he scampers off stomping his feet and slamming everything he comes across that isn't part of the crime scene.
His partner tries to calm him down but he replies "What does it take to get this sick bastard off of my streets?" He then huffs and puffs and sighs "Ah... we have once again tell someone's family that their daughter has been killed."
We then cut to a scene in which this time this maniac not only have one, but two victims in what appears to be a hotel room. He tells his lover, who’s wearing some sort of ritual mask, to take the one of the victims to the bathroom and get her prepared. As she does the woman having her mouth and hands duct taped together kicks his lover in her legs in and runs out of the hotel room.
He screams "NOOOOOOO!"
His lover says "I’m sorry; I am so sorry"
He grabs her by the hair and says "We don't have time for this shit. We need to get the fuck out of here."
She then says "What about her?" referring to the other girl tied on the bed.
He says "Here is what I am going to do about this bitch" as he grasps her neck with both hands to strangle her and she is dead within seconds.
The woman who escaped is now at the police station sitting with Detective Mike Norris.
He says "Now Sarah, please tell me everything you know about this man."
Still shaken and just finding out her best friend didn't make it out alive, she says "I know him, his name is Charles Lee Ray. He attends an art class I belong to. I knew he was different, quiet, but always friendly... I didn't think... he'd..." as she starts to break down.
Det. Norris replies "It's okay Sarah."
His partner Jack interrupts "Mike we gotta go. We got the suspect cornered at Wabash, and VanBuren." They both rush out of there like it was they're only mission.
We see an open shot of a department store. Detective Norris now on the scene says, "What do we got?" An officer in uniform replies "He’s holding himself up in that store. We fired shots at him, but he fired right back"
Norris asks "Does he have any hostages?"
The officer replies "None that we know of and we believe he doesn't, but we're not taking any chances. We should wait for the big boys to get here before we take any actions."
Det. Norris, without hesitation, rushes right over to the department store and let's himself in by going through the broken glass Charles left behind.
His partner, Jack, yells "Mike, are you crazy?... Comeback here!"
Keeping himself at guard walking around with his gun ready to be used, we hear a loud speaker system kick in then a sick, slithery voice says "Hi Mikey... I can see you... I'm every where Mikey!"
He replies "Give it up Ray, it's over. Turn yourself in and I'll see what I can do to help you proper care."
Charles replies in now a more abrupt voice "Not a fuckin’ chance!" as then we here the click of the speaker system shutting off.
Charles is now on the prowl and he sees Det. Norris through random merchandise and takes a shot but misses. Both men hunched down going through the aisles like a children's game hoping to find one another and shoot the other dead. Mike hears a noise and fires off. A bullet comes through and hits Charles right in the chest.
He is still able to walk but he is losing lots of blood. He still crouches down in the aisles then comes across an elderly janitor who is sitting on the ground and has his hand covering his head.
The janitor says "Please don't shoot!"
Charles grabs him by his arm and says "You're coming with me."
He gets up with the janitor and runs towards a service elevator…
“Freeze Ray!”
Charles turns around and says “I am getting the fuck outta here.”
Mike says “No Ray, it’s over, let the man go.”
Charles then points his gun at the man and says “I told you, I am getting out of here now put down your fuckin’ weapon.”
Mike says “Okay Ray, you win.”
He slowly goes to put down the weapon making eye contact with the janitor as if trying to tell him to do something. The janitor then quickly slips away from Charles’ grasp and before Charles could even react, Det. Norris fires off 3 rounds into his chest.
Charles stumbles over to Det. Norris in which he catches him and Charles says “Too bad Mikey. We’ve been playing this game for a while and I feel like we just got acquainted.”
Det. Norris says “It didn’t have to be this way Charles.”
Charles then says as he coughs up blood “My friend’s call me Chucky. *cough, cough* we’re not done you and I. I am coming to get you and your sweet young daughter too Mikey. You and I… are friends till the end”
Then he drops.
Mike replies “Sick fucking psycho”

------------- CHAPTER 2 -----------------------------------------------------------
The screen opens up to a suburban neighborhood. 3 months have passed since the night that “The Candlelight Killer” was gunned down. We pan over to a young mother with her 10 year old son whose bruises on his face that were given to him at the hands of a school bully are just finally fading… today is his birthday.
“Andy, I am so sorry but I have to work tonight.” …
“I know” replies Andy.
She said, “Look, today is your birthday and I know your father would want you to enjoy this day. So let’s just think about going to the store and seeing what toys we can get you today.”
Andy says “Okay mommy.”
As they drive along they see a yard sale and Karen, Andy’s mother, says “Hey let’s stop here real quick.”
Andy says “Mom I don’t want to.”
She says “Now Andy c’mon. You know mommy has been pinching pennies since daddy went to heaven. All I am asking for is 5 minutes to see if we can get some deals on some stuff we might need.”
Andy replies in a defeated tone “Alright.”
As they look around Karen is occupied by a few kitchen items whilst Andy looks over at some children’s items. Then he notices something that immediately has him entranced. It’s a strange doll with red hair, blue eyes, freckles, blue overalls, red converse style sneakers, and an oddly striped shirt.
He quickly picks it up and runs over to his mother and says “Mommy, can I have this?”
Karen says “Oh hey, that’s a Good Guy. Those were around when I was a kid.” Then she thinks for a moment and says “Andy, are you sure you want that. I mean they were cool when I was a kid but aren’t you starting to get a little old for dolls. Today is your 10th birthday.”
He says “Nah uh Mom. I think he can be the greatest birthday gift ever.” S
till feeling like this is a little abnormal but seeing him happy for the real first time since his father died made her give in and say “Okay kiddo, you can have him.”
She asks the woman running the yard sale “How much?”
The woman says “Well I was going to ask $20, but you seem like nice people, and it’s the kid’s birthday so $10 will be fine with me besides, even with batteries it doesn’t work but otherwise it is a nice doll.”
Karen says “Okay, you got a deal and thank you. His father died almost a year ago so I want to make sure he is happy for his first birthday without him. This means a lot to me so again thank you.”
The woman says “Hey no problem… may it bring you and your kid a lot of joy”

--------- CHAPTER 3 ---------------------------------
We are now at the apartment of Maggie Peterson, Karen’s cousin. She isn’t the ideal babysitter as she is in her early 20’s and seems to be more concerned with her boyfriend, and going out to parties all the time. However, being now a single mother Karen has no choice but to leave Andy in her care as she is constantly working extra hours to pay the bills.
“I know he can be a handful sometimes but be a little extra nice to him today… it is his birthday.” Karen says.
Maggie replies “Karen, chill. We’ll be fine. I am even making him a cake and Derrick is picking up a movie for us to watch.”
Karen says “Okay, but make sure Derrick doesn’t go too overboard with him. I know Derrick jokes around, but Andy sometimes thinks he is making fun of him.”
Maggie replies “I’ll talk to him, but seriously, Karen go. We’ll be fine.”
“Okay, and make sure you and Derrick don’t get too comfortable around Andy. Last time I picked him up he asked me why you guys were sticking each other’s tongues in your mouths.”
Maggie says “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you guys are long gone before we start getting romantic with each other.”
Karen leaves.
Hours pass and Derrick, a rather jockish but good looking clod of a young man comes in and says “Hey squirt, what’s with the doll?”
Andy says “He is my new friend.”
Then Derrick replies “Only fairies play with dolls kid.”
Andy storms off, and locks himself in the bathroom. Maggie has words with her man. Derrick apologizes to Andy through the bathroom door but Andy still want to be left alone for a moment. Maggie concludes to give him some time and he’ll come out.
This prompts Derrick to still be a jerk and say “Oh I bet he’ll come out of that closet eventually.”
Taking a closer look at his new toy Andy sees that the doll takes batteries. He did overhear the woman at the yard sale say that it doesn’t work, but he was still curious to find out. So he took a flashlight from Maggie’s bathroom cabinet beneath her sink and dumps the batteries out. As he is struggling to put the batteries in hand cuts the tip of his finger. He doesn’t bleed a lot but enough to get on the doll and in the doll’s battery compartment. Despite it hurting he still manages to force the batteries in. When he does the doll blinks his eyes, turns his head and says “Hi. My name is Chucky and I am your friend till the end. Hidey Ho, Hahaha!”
“WOW!” Andy says and comes out of the bathroom to show Maggie.
Maggie notices blood on his hand and puts a bandage on his finger. They sit down to watch a movie and he falls asleep on the couch until his mother picks him up. He shows his mother how the doll talks and she inquires about his very minor injury.
She asks where he got the batteries and he says “From Maggie’s flashlight.”
Karen says “Andy, you should have asked if that was okay. You can’t just take stuff without asking. Maybe that’s why karma cut your finger.”
Maggie says “It’s alright Karen, it’s not that big of a deal.”
Karen says to Andy “Well… at least we know he has a name now.”
Karen and Andy then head home.
The next day Karen has to take Andy to work with her since it’s a Saturday and she only has to work for a couple hours. We are now in Karen’s office in which she does a little of everything at an industrial facility that makes plastics for various companies, everything from bottles to potato chip bag clips. Basically dollar store items. They are one of the last places like this to still be in operation but the threat of closing doors and going overseas always looms. Her boss works in the cubical behind her. Despite constantly giving orders he does seem to appreciate her duties, and treats her nice enough. Suddenly one of the labor workers walks in. It’s an ugly, woman whose face can’t seem to do anything other than scowl. She has reddish/brownish hair, very dry skin, and yellow teeth, with eyes to match. She looks like she needs a shower, but doesn’t care.
She says to her boss “David, you got to tell the fucking mechanic to fix machine 7. It shit the bed again.”
Karen says “Hey, watch your language. My son is sitting right over there.”
The woman who is obviously low class replies “Hey, you ain’t out there sweating your fucking balls off standing in front of a hot machine. Just do what I do and leave the little fuckers home. He has to learn to fend for himself sometime.”
Karen’s boss says “I phoned Tony and told him to bring his tools to machine 7. He’ll have you up and running in 5 minutes. Now please apologize to Karen and her son, and go back to your station.”
The woman says “Okay David.” She looks over at Karen and Andy, and sharply says “Sorry.”
As David, Karen’s boss, then asks her to make a few phone calls. As she is per-occupied with her phone calls, Andy tells Chucky about how he doesn’t like that woman and how every time he is there that woman always give him dirty looks. Andy then tells Karen he has to go to the bathroom. She takes him and we see a shot of the doll turn his head, and roll his eyes over to look out the window at the floor where all the machines are.
We now cut to Detective Mike Norris still trying to figure out the whereabouts of the mysterious blonde woman who was helping Charles Lee Ray with his crimes. The victim who escaped didn’t get to see her face and never heard the woman speak, so the lineup he made was useless. He questioned a few blonde headed women that were all seen with Charles Lee Ray weeks before the night he died as well a quite a few others seen with him. Apparently he had no trouble talking to and hanging out with women and unbeknownst about what he was really up to…. He was quite the ladies man and gentleman. However, being a Detective he couldn’t shake the hunch he had about one in particular since her reaction about Charles was much different compared to the other woman he spoke. Even at that she didn’t match vague description the survivor had given. This woman’s hair was black.
His partner walks in and says “Mike, are you ready to get out of here. Some of the guys are meeting at the pub tonight, you coming?”
Mike, holding a framed picture of what appears to be an attractive 17 year old girl, says “No, not tonight. I have to pick up my daughter from school. But do me a favor… make sure that we keep tabs on Miss Valentine’s whereabouts, okay?”
“Sure Mike” his partner replies.
Mike is still thinking about the night he killed Charles Lee Ray. He’s had to kill other criminals before in the line of duty, but something about this one has him shaken. Even though he knows Charles Lee Ray was a psychopath, he can seem to get over how confident Charles was with his threats despite dying.
Where now back to Karen and Andy who just got back from the bathroom. Right away Andy notices that Chucky is not sitting in the chair where he left him last.
Karen says “This isn’t funny, but it probably one of the workers hid him on you. I’ll find him.”
Now we are at machine 7 where Tony the mechanic just got the machine up and running. So the nasty woman who cursed in front of Andy waits for the injection mold machine to open so he can repeatedly take a product out, scoffing all the way.
She then hears a clanging at the bottom of the machine and yells “God damn it Tony, you’re fucking useless.”
Of course no one hears her because there are some many of these machines that you can barely hear yourself think. So she goes under the machine to see what it is. It’s a little dark so she takes her lighter to get a better look. As she scans the area and we are then taken to the doll’s point of view. She get’s startled for a few short seconds.
From the doll’s POV we see her say “What the fuck kinda joke is this?”
Then her face changed to total fright as we hear a man’s voice snicker. This causes the woman to jump up in a panic which results in her head getting crushed by the two halves of the molding machine. Tony the mechanic walks upon the scene and then goes on the loud speaker to ask for help. All the workers, including Karen, Andy, and her boss David walk over to the site to see the macabre scene. Karen tells Andy to look away, but he notices Chucky sitting at the floor of the beheaded woman’s work table with his innocent looking grin. No one seems to notice this but Andy doesn’t look disturbed at all. In fact… he seems happy to see Chucky.

----------- CHAPTER 4 -------------------------------------
A couple days pass and Karen has to once again leave Andy with Maggie. Maggie had plans but Karen begs her explaining that she won’t have to watch Andy for a while since her job is going to be shut down for while due to the accident. Of course she does have a degree in marketing so her boss wants her to come in to help him with how they should handle the PR that is stemming from this incident. Maggie agrees but still doesn’t look happy. So like any other night that Maggie has to watch Andy, her boyfriend, Derrick, decides to drop in. This time he is a little drunk and is being a bit of an extra asshole to Andy. Maggie should step up to him, but because she felt like she was inconvenienced she really doesn’t do anything about Derrick picking on Andy. Later on Karen comes to pick up Andy and she looks like she should just use that vacation finally. Making it appear he had a good time, Andy happily grabs his companion and leaves with his mother. He turns around at Derrick and gives him an odd grin.
Later that evening Derrick and Maggie decide to get comfortable with each other. She straddles him on the couch and they make out. All of a sudden Derrick notices that Chucky is sitting by the foot of the TV stand out of the corner of his eye.
He yelps “Jesus!” whilst still being entangled in a kiss.
Maggie says “What?”
He points his finger and says “Where’d that come from? I don’t remember that being here.”
She turns her head and sees the doll glaring back lifelessly.
She says “I could have sworn Andy took that with him.”
Her boyfriend asks “Well did he?”
She replies in a giggling tone “I don’t know, we’ve had a lot to drink. Abraham Lincoln could be sitting there for all I know.”
Then she says. “I tell you what. Meet me in the bedroom in 5 minutes. I’ll help you feel more… relaxed. You can even bring your little friend with you to watch if you’d like.”
He snickers “Okay.”
She walk out of the room, and he takes another shot of whiskey. He then walks over to the doll and picks it up.
Looking at it he says “Yeah… like I’d let you watch what’s gonna happen you fucking pervert.”
Then the doll says in his child like voice “I like to be hugged,” which startled Derrick for a second.
He then laughs and says “I bet you do fairy.”
Then all of a sudden the doll again the child voice says “Derrrrrrick.”
Then Derrick is like “WTF?”
Then the doll in an angered man’s voice says “DERRICK!”
Within micro seconds his face becomes distorted and angered; he pulls a knife out from his overalls and begins to start stabbing Derrick repeatedly in the chest. Derrick falls to his back whilst still holding Chucky as he continues to be stabbed. Maggie comes running out of her room and witnesses her boyfriend getting killed my Andy’s doll.
She turns to run the other way, but Chucky grabs the whiskey bottle and throws it at the back of her head. He then walks in front of her to the top of her head. She lifts her head and looks up at him with fright.
He puts his hand under her chins and says “You should be much nicer to Andy… don’t you know he doesn’t have a father anymore?”
Then he grabs her by her hair and repeatedly bashes her face into the hardwood floor of her living room. She is screaming when this happens but no one seems to care. We then see 2 old ladies hearing the chaos in the apartment above. The sounds of thumping on the ceiling, and screaming makes one of the old ladies turn the volume on her TV.
She says “Damn college kids with their rock ‘n roll and sex. I can’t hear a damn thing in this episode of 'Pawn Stars'.”
Back over to Chucky, Maggie has stopped screaming and is now lightly moaning. Her face resembles the crushed remains of a pomegranate. Chucky then looks at her and says “Good night bitch” before delivering the final blow that would smother the life out of her.
The next morning, Andy wakes Karen up and is in a panic because Chucky is gone.
Karen asks “Did you maybe leave him at Maggie’s?”
Andy says “No, he was with me. Don’t you remember?”
Karen in all honestly did remember. Her head was in such a fog between that accident and all the work she has been doing.
She says “Well Andy, I am off work for a little while so why don’t we have breakfast, get dressed, and see if he is at Maggie’s house”
He is still insisting on Chucky being with him the night before, but he then says “Okay.”
As they arrive to the apartment they see that there is lot of activity going on. There are cops, people with cameras, police tape around certain areas, and a woman crying. Karen notices chalked outlines of 2 bodies, and right away gets a terrible feeling.
Detective Norris walks over to her and says “Mam, you can’t be here who are you?”
Karen says “I am Karen Barclay and this is my son Andy. This is my cousin’s apartment. We were just here last night. What happened?”
Mike says “There is no way to say this Mrs. Barclay. Miss Peterson and her boyfriend were murdered here last night”
Karen is very upset to hear the news as Det. Norris informs her that one of Maggie’s college friends made the discovery. As he asks her questions about what time she saw Maggie and the other usual investigative questions that go along with a crime scene like this Andy notices Chucky is sitting in the living room.
He says “Look who I found mommy?”
Karen being in shock that Andy didn’t seem that concerned at all about the death of his cousin says in a sharp tone “Andy NOT NOW! You shouldn’t be touching anything that is here this is crime scene”
Det. Norris says “It’s okay Mrs. Barclay, that wasn’t near the scene and isn’t evidence. I am sure your kid is just trying to comfort himself. He probably doesn’t know how to process something this tragic”
Karen says “You’re right. I am sorry. I guess I am just shocked by all of this.”
Det. Norris then gives her a card and says to please keep in contact in case she hears of any new information.
He states that he “doesn’t like loose ends” and that any help would be appreciated.

---------- CHAPTER 5 --------------------------
A couple days pass. Maggie was laid to rest, and Karen is on her involuntary vacation. Today Andy is being very difficult towards her as he keeps insisting on wanting to take Chucky to school with him.
She tells him “No” because of other kids picking on him but he seems to be showing a great deal resistance and frustration towards her.
He finally agrees to not take his doll to school with him but then says under his breath “You’re a fucking bitch.”
She heard him say this and she says “WHAT DID YOU SAY?!”
Then he yells at her “YOU”RE A FUCKING BITCH! NOW LET ME HAVE MY DOLL!!!”
She forcefully grabs him by the back of his neck and drags him to school. She tells him that he is in big trouble when he gets home.
(Enter filler scene here of Karen being upset and searching the classified ads in the news paper)
We now see Andy getting pushed down by a bully, Brett, in the boy’s restroom. Unlike most days where Andy is scared, he is actually fighting back and cursing at the kid. Still Andy is not strong enough to take him on so he gets punched in the stomach.
He noticed a small pair of feet with red sneakers in one of the stalls just as he falls to the tiled floor of the restroom.
The bell rings and everyone storms out of there. Andy doesn’t go to the nurse, or even go back to class. We see the stall door open and Andy walks in.
We’re now in a class room where the loud speaker kicks in and says “Brett Shelton to the principal’s office.” So his teacher tells him to go.
As he is about to walk down a flight of stairs as we see a flash of Andy’s eyes and a set of doll hands push the 12 to 13 year on his back. The boy despite being a bully doesn’t deserve his fate that lies at the bottom of those stairs. Barely alive, bloodied, and broken the kid looks up at the top of those stairs and see Andy looking slightly scared yet justified and Chucky… standing on his own with an evil sneer.
Chucky says “See Andy, you don’t let anyone fuck with ya!” Andy then picks up Chucky right before a teacher arrives on scene.
She sees Andy holding Chucky who is now lifeless and runs down the stairs in a controlled panic and yell to Andy “What happened?”
The bully points to Andy, who is holding his beloved Good Guy doll, and says “He pushed me."

-------------- CHAPTER 6 --------------------------
Karen is called to the police station. Det. Norris doesn’t know what to expect, or suspect. He doesn’t want to believe that a little boy is capable of such horror, but it is the only link Maggie’s murder and this bully who is listed as being in critical condition and at the local hospitals ICU. It doesn’t help Andy that he is choosing to remain silent other than saying “I didn’t do it”.
Det. Norris explains to Karen that Andy could be in some serious trouble, and that he has to be evaluated by a professional before he can be released. Mike informs her that he’ll have to be held in some form of custody because it is Friday afternoon, and they won’t be able to do anything until Monday morning.
Karen is very distraught to hear this and begs for Andy to come home with her until then. Det. Norris feeling bad suggests to her that Andy stay with him and his 17 year old daughter, Kyle, for the weekend. He’ll be safe and away from any juvenile detention centers. He even offers Karen to stay with him as well. He wants to believe that between his father dying not too long ago, seeing the murder scene, and witnessing the boy fall down the stairs that maybe Andy is in shock and needs time to open up. Since it’s the only alternative Karen agrees and is actually grateful in any way to keep Andy away from the system if it doesn’t have to be that way. She does suggest to Det. Norris that she brings the doll home since it wasn’t until Andy getting that doll that when his attitude started to change. Mike agrees and even admits that there is something a little off putting about the doll.
Karen says “Yeah, well I think will survive without Chucky for a few days.”
Mike couldn’t help but feel the hairs on his neck stand as that name came out of her mouth. Still being a man of logic and reasoning, he shrugs it off and leaves it to being a matter of coincidence. He sees the boy who appears to be pretending to exchange whispers in the ear with the doll. Karen tells Andy what’s going on and he allows her to take his doll without any arguments or debate.
(Insert scene of Andy meeting Kyle, and having a good time with her and Mike)
Karen arrives at her home. She sets the doll down on the kitchen counter, looks at it and says “You certainly caused a lot of trouble.”
The doll turns his head, blinks his eyes, and says in that signature childlike voice “Hi, I’m Chucky. Wanna play?”
She just laughs to herself, and says “You’re real cute, you know that?”
She then starts packing up things for her and Andy and then gets startled at the sound of something falling in the kitchen. The minute she walks in she sees that the doll is gone. She expects to see it lying on the kitchen floors but as she turns the corner of the counter she sees a knocked over jar of flour and what appears to look like the brush stroke images of something getting up from the ground after being in said flour.
She gets up on her knees and shrieks as she sees Chucky sitting on the chair behind her at the kitchen table.
She says “Oh my God.”
Then Chucky replies in his Good Guy voice “Wanna Play?”
She looks a bit dumbfounded by how the doll got in the chair.
The doll then says “Hey, I just asked you… do you WANNA PLAY?” ending out the end of that sentence in a maniacal man’s voice and lunging toward her at the same time.
He tried to grab her, choke her, and bite her, but she manages to toss him off. She grabs a wooden mop handle and hits him it shooting him across the living room and towards the door. So he gets up and runs out the door.
She tries chasing after him but looses him.
Karen tries to call Mike to warn him, but she is losing signal on her cell phone as it is in the middle of a thunderstorm. All he heard was a jumbled mess and the most he got out of this message was “The Doll is alive” of course he concludes that he heard wrong.
As she is driving to his place, she sees the house that had the yard sale in which she had bought the doll from. She knocks on the door profusely, and despite looking like a lunatic between being wet from the rain and being stressed the woman lets her in. She apologizes to the woman for showing up so unexpectedly, and asks her about the doll.
The woman says “I never thought something like this could ever possibly happen again.”
Karen says “What do you mean?”
The woman then proceeded to tell her that the doll belonged to her nephew. She took him in when he was 8 years old. His parent’s death to this day was in conclusive as cop weren’t ever 100% sure that if it was a murder suicide or a double homicide. She knew her sister and brother-in-law were fighting a lot but she didn’t want to think he was crazy enough to kill his wife and himself. When she took in her nephew all he had were some clothes and his Good Guy doll.
Every kid had one back in the late 80’s but no one loved their doll as much as he loved his. She didn’t think much of it but she did notice that where ever there was trouble he was there and so was his doll. As he got older he should have grown out of his companionship with his toy, but it only got worse. It was like the rest of the world didn’t matter when it concerned “That damned thing.”
He started getting involved with a strange man who taught him things about the black arts, voodoo, and cult practices. One day she caught him trying to perform some weird ritual with the doll, and that is when she decided that enough was enough.
She one day decided to tell him that she had given it away to a needy child while he was at school hoping that he would forgive her and see that it went to a good cause. She didn’t have the heart to throw it away nor give it away so she hid it within the house figuring she would give it back to him someday when he was well enough to live a normal life. It was all he had left of his real family and it wouldn’t be right to just throw that away, but she had to do something drastic.
Instead he grew worse after that. His he was a gifted art student and his paintings became more macabre and questionable. Of course his art teacher looked at it as expression, but she knew something was off. Whist the rest of her family seemed to have a clean cut look and lifestyle her nephew was more attracted to being a troubled youth who causes trouble. One day, she came to witnessing him trying to strangle her daughter for going into his room. After that she had no choice but to throw him out.
She often wonders if giving him back his doll would have helped but she then said “He is gone now… I don’t know whether to be sad about that or feel relieved. I always did fear him returning to hurt me or my family”
Karen then says “Well I guess this kind of explains why my son feels so attached to Chucky”
The woman questioned “Chucky?”
Then Karen says “Yeah, my sons doll. You said it didn’t work but he put batteries in it and it said it’s name was “Chucky.”
The woman says “What kind of game are you playing here?”
Karen says “Excuse me?”
The woman says “This isn’t funny. Even though it was justified it was still a tragedy for this family. Now get out of my house.”
Karen says “Listen please, my son’s life is at stake here. I am not playing games, so please help me.”
The woman says “The dolls name couldn’t be Chucky. That was my nephew’s name. I really didn’t want to bring this up but my nephew was Charles Lee Ray… the serial killer that was killed by the police a few months ago. Everyone who knew him called him Chucky, even his own family. I didn’t bring this up because this isn’t the kind of thing you just… tell someone. I don’t know what you’re trying to pull here lady but Chucky was my nephew’s name. The doll’s name is Billy.”
At this point Karen had a look on her face like she saw a mushroom cloud from a nuclear bomb go off in the distance.
She looked at the woman and said “I am so sorry… I have to go.”

Thank you... and don't worry. I will have the rest of the story up as soon as I can. I ran into a plot hole that I am trying to fill without making the story seem too convoluted.
When I get some spare time I promise to deliver the goods.
