I think it would have been cool if he kept his original knife from child's play throughout the series.

Yeah, it was a pretty neat memento.

I wish that too but I inderstand why they didn't. Unfortunatley because of Chucky's situation he has to rely on someone... or coincidence to bring him back. Chances are he isn't going to have the same weapons included with him and he doesn't have the advantage of Jason or Michael Myers to go out and retirieve the same knife for get one that looks like it. So that was a one time deal unfortunately.
Luckily they reused it in Curse for that Flashback scene... but happened. People started questioning the integrity of how he had the knife as a human prior to becoming a doll and there were mant debate. That's nature I suppose but we can now say that it was the only knife to make 2 film appearances in this franchise.

I would have liked to know more about the significance of that knife, like if he got it from John or anything.

It was a nice cameo in curse. It's a badass knife to be honest, lol.

I always thought it was a pretty goofy looking knife, but still iconic for Chucky.
I would like to know where he got it though. I always assumed he got it from Andy's home but then they showed it in Curse of Chucky.

It's probably a knife that he mainly used in his killings. Before get got killed by Norris.

He didn't use it until the scene where he stabbed his Voodoo mentor's (aka John, aka Dr. Death) voodoo doll. Chances are John had a few of these knives. He could have given them to all of his students since the symbols on it could have some sort of ritual meaning. Of course John might have used these knives on chickens and goats... Chucky used his on people. Hence "You perverted everything I taught you.."
I get the feeling that if John was aware of what Chucky's intentions were with his voodoo lessons John would have never accepted him as an apprentice to his teachings.

Yeah, I wonder what John used them knives for if he wasn't into evil and whatnot. Maybe sacrificing chickens.

More than likely some kind of healthy sacrifice, chickens are common in voodoo actually lol

Then after the ritual is done they season it and throw it on a grill. That's what happens when you allow some American culture into your own traditions. lol.
