It did when he first went into the doll and when Tiffany switched in Seed, also presumably worked for Glen / Glenda to get into the 2 children.

That's one of the continuity problems in the franchise. Don never really liked the voodoo aspect, so he probably didn't pay it too much mind. Also we don't know if there's just one chant. There could be one for transferring initially, switching, with the HoD, without, etc.

The first time I saw CP2, I actually thought the chant worked when he was in the factory, and they switched. The scene was just so well done, like Chucky and Andy both had that look on their faces like "what just happened?"
