Ranking the Chucky Movies

I found this article from SlashFilm which ranked all the Chucky films including Cult of Chucky.

Each ranking does contain spoilers but I think anyone on this site has already seen the new movie so here you go.

I have to say that I agree with this list. Especially with some of the reasons given why each film is in it's place.

Whilst Cult of Chucky has it's continuity flaws I actually have it at a higher ranking in my personal list because it was overall entertaining and stuck more in line with being a horror movie.

So my list would go as follows.

7. Seed
6. CP3
5. Curse
4. Bride
3. Cult
2. CP1
1. CP2

The first two movies were always neck and neck for me but after reading this article it is made clear to me that CP2 in indeed me favorite Chucky film. Probably the only Horror Sequel to surpass it's first installment which even non Horror films have trouble with.

I'm kind of old fashioned:

7. Seed (by a country mile)
6. Cult
5. Curse
4. Bride
3. CP3
2. CP1
1. CP2

Like you said CP1 and CP2 and essentially the same ranking. The gap between my $7 and #6 is pretty steep. Bride and Curse are pretty close as well. I will admit, I like CP3 more than most, because I think if they were to end the series, that was when it should have happened.

CP3 really ends a chapter in the Chucky Franchise: is the last Child's Play, before the "of Chucky" series

That's true. That's probably why I like it more than others. But it also carries the same tone as the first two, which I like. Obviously bonus points for me because no stitches, and only one doll/killer overall (so no multiple Chuckys, Tiffany, Glen/Glenda, etc.). Also, it's still dealing with kids, which entertains me more than having him go after adults.
