Little late to adding my two cents, but oh well.
I don't mind gore at all really as long as it's done tastefully, as weird as that sounds.
Too many times series have succumb to using gore to replace a good story line just to keep it alive and it's always disappointing. I just hope if this truly is the goriest movie of all, they're not sacrificing anything for it.
Also I don't care what anybody says, that scene with the chili and the close up of their mouths is the most disturbing to me. Lol

This time they're going to top that by doing a full minute zoom in of beef stew and a close up of 10 please eating it.

And a 19 minute scene of someone taking the worst dump of their life.

Then the moment the guy sighs, Chucky jumps in and slits his throat then says a comment like "Shitty Job, but someone had to do it. Heh heh heh hee hee hee ha ha!"

Lol Yeah, I think it should feel organic rather than having gore just for the sake of having gore.

Gore can be either stylized or tastefully done. When in between, it sucks.
Good example. Stylized, Evil Dead (the original) this movie wasn't meant to be serious but the excessive amounts of gore it did have didn't mask the little bit of interesting story it did have.
Tasteful, Hellraiser, gory as all hell, but done elegantly and in a way that enhances the fear.
So if it's meant to be schlock, that's fine. We don't watch those movies for meaning, but when it's supposed to be a scary film with no real substance, then it just feels like clips of horror with shitty commercials in between.
Luckily, Chucky's name carries success and can carry a film. I just think the casual fans might not get as much out of it.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I like gore in a horror film, but if it doesn't have a good story going for it, then it's just meaningless, IMO.
