When Chucky is in the attic with Barbara just before he puts the knife in his eye he tells her "you have your mother's eyes and every time she kept them closed" (in the French version). You think it's passing something between Sarah and Charles in the past and that they wanted to keep in secret?

In the English version he said "You have your mother's eyes... They were always too FUCKING CLOSE TOGETHER!!!"
I think he said it more as an insult than anything else.
I hope this translates well.

Yeah, wow. The French version completely romanticized the line. That is an interesting thought though, it makes sense how one watching that version would think there was some kind of past romantic link between the two of them.
