What if Chucky turned around...

A while back Child's Play was on TV and Spanky and I were watching it (intoxicated)

and the scene where Chucky spends his first night with Andy, and Aunt Maggie puts him to bed  and then Andy kisses Chucky and says "I love you" ....(or something along those lines) Spanky pipes in, drunk as shit and says "What if that's all it took to turn Chucky's life around? Just innocent love" Now for the time being I was laughing because that seemed ridiculous, but now I wonder, what if that really was all there was to it? We wouldn't have 5 more movies, that's for sure.

Any thoughts?

I remember discussing this at a past place before, we joked it's essentially the plot to "Ted".

But yeah, what if Andy's unconditional love made Chucky decide to act as a father figure for the boy?
