I think he did a good job playing a teenage version of Andy. When I saw the first trailer for it... that's right, I am one of the dinosaurs that got to see these as they came out... I was taken back by the fact that they decided to jump a few years ahead. So when seeing this movie I had already made myself accustomed to the fact that Andy is older so therefore a different actor was going to be playing him now.
As far as looks went... negotiable. Both actors have a basic look... especially when they were younger. If they were to have Justin Whalin play Andy in the next film it will be much more noticeable. Lol.
As far as believability... he did fine job of carrying the conflict of the first two movies. He seemed like a displaced teen. Ala more confident in the fact that others would view what he knows of Chucky for lunacy.

I agree. Justin Whalin did a good job. Here is a little fact you may or may not know. Justin Whalin was in the 1994 John Waters comedy Serial Mom. The reason he was in the film was because John Waters saw CP3 and liked Justin in the film. John is also a huge Chucky fan which is why he got the role of Pete Peters in Seed.

Nice trivia... I forgot about that.
When I was a kid I used to confuse Justin for that kid in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
They had similar looks at the time. Lol.
Another piece of Whalin trivia... I got to see two of my favorite worlds collide in the movie "Suzie Q"... Chucky and Power Rangers. Justin was the male leads and America's sweetheart and first pink ranger... Amy Jo Johnson played the female lead.
Cute film and I never saw it again. It's a Disney type film and I normally never watch those kinds of movies but I was channel surfing and couldn't resist. You know how it goes when you see some of your favortie stars from one movie or show you enjoyed... it makes you want to see what else they can do.
