I was talking about Curse with a co worker and they didn't even know there was a 6th Chucky movie.
This person watched it... liked it a lot... and said it was the perfect end to an overall great series.
I mentioned that another is in the works and the response I got was "Why? What more needs to be said or done? They righted the wrongs of the previous movie and it ended with him getting shot by Andy. Full circle. Anything more will take away any poetic meaning"
I thought about this really good and I kind of agree. For years I thought Seed was it and as a fan I felt jaded if the last thing we got Chucky was a film that makes Jason X look legit.
If Curse were the last movie... it ended on a high note and it did end where it all started. Chucky vs Andy.
So think about this and ask yourself... do we really want another movie? Especially when it can potentially go down South again.

This is a topic where I can really see both sides of the debate. On one hand, yeah, Curse doesn't really need a sequel. It didn't really have any cliffhangers to solve and it did have a perfect ending, with Andy finally confronting Chucky, and supposedly killing him. But on the other hand, you could argue that CP1 didn't really need a sequel. It didn't have any cliffhangers, the story was wrapped up very well. But we ended up getting CP2, which is arguably one of the best horror sequels ever. So I guess it sort of depends on the quality of the sequel. Also, I think some fans are curious to see what else Chucky can do in the series. Also, when it comes to sequels, I'm positive this is what goes through movie executives' minds when they think of sequels... ![](http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view1/1338948/money-swim-o.gif)

I kind of agree, but then the huge gap between him finding Alice then being delivered to Andy needs filling for me. It's established hebsuffersbwith completion anxiety, hence his reason for tracking Andy down, the only other person I can imagine him being after is Nica who was committed. So that would be interesting, seeing how Chucky went down in an asylum where whoever saw him move and talk would probably be met with disbelief no matter what

I guess seeing the 6 month gap would be good but for me personally... it's a lack luster event because I know going in that it'll just lead to his demise and worse... he's stitched.
If they were planning on making this they should have worked on it right away. I'm not saying I'm someone who needs a fast sequel but when it involves a story continuation that has that "Lord of the Rings" style where one films bleeds into the next... too much time passing is like chewing on the same piece of gum and the flavor is long gone. One will eventually want a new piece of gum.
The more time passes the less I care about that story. I'd rather just see it end all together or give us something new to see. Which is easier said then done but with some clever writing a fresh new movie can be pulled off.

How about if what we witness at the end of Curse is only the halfway point of the next movie?
They fill in the gaps, then at about the 40 minute mark we arrive at the Andy/Chucky scene and have a continuation of that. Who's to say what could happen?
