Okay... I don't think if Don had intended for his original concept idea to spawn off a few sequels but at minimum at least one.
His original idea for Blood Buddy was to have Buddy (Chucky) meet his demise at the factory and it leading into multiple dolls coming to life via blood passage.
For as terrible as that sounds, part of me thinks that this exists in an alternate universe somewhere.
How do you feel this would habe turned out?
Also as a side not CP2 is pretty much Blood Buddy 1 from what the original script looked like and how much of the concepts from that were applied to this movie.

I feel like it'd be a little too campy with multiple dolls, at least if it's a factory's entire inventory. The movie "Dolly Dearest" pulled off the multiple doll thing, but it was only a few, like 3-4.

"Dolly Dearest"... be careful with that one... it's an antique. Lol.
Seriously though, I know what you mean. Also Chucky was the real first "living doll" character to be treated like an actual character. So an ending like that might have been cool to see based on the original concept... but now having him as an actual person... it totally would've flopped IMHO.

Well with more dolls, you get less personality, unless you want to shoe-horn in him having some multiple personality disorder and somehow each doll has one of his multiple personalities.
Without personality, it would end up being like that "The Mysterious Mr. Friend" episode of Rugrats:
