I wonder when will we hear from don or fiona at some point regarding the future of the series?

Well I do believe Don confirmed it on Twitter and has voiced some of his ideas for the film.

I'm gonna be honest by saying I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon. It took 8 years between movies to get the last 3 sequels so I would say we probably have some time before seeing anything, unfortunately. I don't have a doubt in my mind it won't happen though

It'll probably be a while.
Of course I will say that Don should take no more than 2 maybe 3 years to hop on another sequel.
If he does it too soon... it'll feel forced ala CP3 scenario... if he waits too long... no one might care because we already went through that.

Well there was a 2 year gap between CP and CP2, and only a year between CP2 and CP3, so I reckon that range is pretty fitting.
I guess it'll really depend on if it is due for a theatrical release, which will probably reflect it's budget. I won't have any gripes if it is STV, because the series has pretty much crawled out from 6 feet under and a few shovels of dirt on it. I'd assume if it's going to be STV, then we will get it sooner as opposed to later. If it gets a theatrical green-light, then there can be a lot more promotion going on, allowing them to push it back longer.
I think it will also depend on the future of the franchise. Is Don going to keep making Chucky movies, or is the end in sight? If he is looking to end the franchise, then I would figure we'd have a little more wait for it, so the hype can be built for a hopefully proper send-off.

Who is to say that if Don was finished that it couldn't continue.
Most franchises have a different writer for each entry... so if he is done it doesn't mean that someone else couldn't take over.
As for a theatrical release... I think the only way that would ever happen is if we got a full fledged remake.
IDK of any other franchise that has gone from the big screen, to STV, back to the big screen.
If not a remake then a vs movie but he would have to go up against someone theater worthy like Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, or Jason Voorhees. Leprechaun... forget that. He is schlocky as fuck and that has Syfy Channel written all over it. Like Puppet Master vs Dangerous Toys and I am sure Corey Feldman would be up to take over the roll of Andy Barclay for that one. Lol. No thank you.

That's Demonic Toys, but yeah.
Yeah well Don doesn't have to continue, I was more or less alluding to him just being done with it altogether and "ending" the franchise. But of course Chucky seems to always come back, so another person could come in and do some work.

I agree to an extent. I mean it's not like he's out there moving around and whatnot, he's just voicing Chucky. Now I will say, you could definitely hear a difference in his voice in Curse as opposed to the previous films, which I don't know is due to his age, or if he did that by design.

Which I mean isn't always a bad, just different. I mean Chucky's been going at it for 25 years, so it's not bad to hear him sound a little weathered and aged.
