That's what I said, but still lol, it's something the "average viewer" doesn't pick up on.

Sounds like you've spent a lot of time looking for these subtle moments, lol

I think you're reading an awful lot into a facial expression that could well have synced up with many lines of dialogue.

No I haven't, Gee. I just noticed Damien's weirded out expression on a recent rewatch. And I've seen this movie like 50 times. Haha.
Smngry - I don't even understand your point. Who cares what the original intent of the filmmakers was, the point is that it's up there, on the screen. The filmmakers ok'd it to be edited in that way.

CP1 when he said "What's the matter? Gun Jammed?"
It also sounded like he added a Mexican Accent to it too. Lol.

Yeah, I guess it can't be helped but notice some things after watching something so many times lol

Yeah I mean if we really wanna get into it, take Chucky's full name "Charles Lee Ray". This is common trivia of the movie, but the average run-of-the-mill viewer wouldn't notice it's a composition of 3 serial killer names - Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald, and James Earl Ray.

Who cares what the intent of the filmmaker was? Well, obviously the intent matters. If it was intended to be subtle then, it's subtle. If it wasn't intended, then it's a coincidence.
It was edited that way and they ok'd it? Maybe, just maybe, they didn't notice it. That could be possible too. Things do slip past even the biggest budget and most talented director from time to time. Like camera crews visible in sides of cars.
We wouldn't take it that they planted a subtle reference to a film being shot within the film

This is just a reference, but like in CP3 when the one dude gives the "This is my rifle, this is my gun" spiel - that was made pretty popular by the movie "Full Metal Jacket" with R. Lee Ermey.

I like Whitehurst's face after Major Ellis (that's right... I know his name) gave that speech. Implies that he doesn't use his "gun" all that much.
I used to make that same face... then I discovered woman... and went in the military to know the difference between a rifle and a gun.
Now I high five Major Ellis.
