Something that's always bugged me this.

At the end of the original movie, he's killed with a bullet through the heart. He has to be killed by destroying his heart, we know this, yet all they do at the beginning of CP2 is clean him up, put some new eyes in and presto...

He's alive again.

What brought him back when that's all they did?

I'd say some combination of using a vital remaining body part (the head) and the electricity is what brought him back to life. That's really all I can muster right now.
