Does anyone else feel really bad for Nica? I think out of all the characters in Child's Play (aside from Andy of course) she's probably suffered the most. I mean before she didn't really seem to have all that much of a great life (with her condition and her mom being overprotective and all). Then all of a sudden this doll comes along and murders her entire family except one and it's all blamed on her. She spends four years in a mental asylum because she's deemed insane by the courts. Tries to attempt suicide once she found out her only shining hope that is her niece is reported dead by her "guardian". On top of that more murders are pinned on her because of her past and she ends up getting possessed by Chucky where he'll most likely do more irreversible damage to her name. Just a pretty tragic thing to happen to such a likeable character like Nica. Idk just my two cents at 3am also I put it in the spoil section because I know there's some people out there who haven't seen the movie yet so yeah. Thoughts?

I mean it's kind of a toss up between her and Andy, to be honest.
Sure Nica has the physical ailments and everything, and Chucky started with her when she was still in the womb, she was still kind of an adult when first encountering Chucky.
Andy was a six year old boy, seeing people around him get murdered. When he thinks it's all over, he's taken from his mom, thrown into foster care, just for it all to happen again. Then when he thinks it's over... again, he bounces around from foster home to foster home, eventually being dumped at a military academy... for it all to happen again. He thinks it's finally over again... only to have it come back to his life as an adult, in which he can't even get a date (because they just Google him and find all this stuff out), and he knows that he'd failed to end Chucky 3 times and that Chucky continues to be out there, more than 20 years after he started.
I mean they both got the shit end of the stick, but Andy got terrorized as a child, which kind of trumps most stuff for me.

Did anybody else find it supremely ironic that Chucky was the cause of Nica's paralysis, yet ended up being in her body come the end of Cult?

And being able to walk, lol. I mean I get Chucky retains his original strength wherever he transfers, but that doesn't cure paralysis. I'm guessing it's part of the new trick he learned from Voodoofordummies.com

I thought the walking was a bit of a stretch but at the same time, a doll shouldn't be able to move at all.
So I can suspend some disbelief that he can walk in Nica's body.
I guess it can be chalked up to Nica has a severed spine, Chucky's soul does not. Lol.

Yeah, it's just one of those things which I feel like they can explain and set the rules, but because they don't like the voodoo aspect, they don't lol.

Watching Andy overpowering the buzz cut Chucky as easily as he does, I sorta came to the conclusion that Chucky isn't as strong as we were led to believe ya know

Well in all fairness it's now Chucky as an adult taking on Andy who is also now an adult. At that point we can just simply say that Andy is now stronger than Chucky.
Also Andy is wise to Chucky. Despite Chucky having man strength it usually works best when someone is caught off guard. Like when he latches on someone's back to choke them. Andy was ready with the counter attack since Chucky charged at him up front.

Exactly. Chucky always got the advantage due to element of surprise. Andy is no longer surprised.
Or Chucky has always been able to sneak up on people, which he couldn't do to Andy in the hospital because he came directly at him.

Yeah, fair points. I hadn't really thought of the surprise element and the fact Andy is now sort of on equal terms

Yeah, I mean most of Chucky's victims had no idea he was alive.
